Ceasefire Strained as Israeli Operations Continue, Gaza Evacuations Critically Low
Despite an active ceasefire agreement, the Israeli military is keeping their activity in the region and killed two people including a child. While the Rafah crossing has partially reopened, human rights organizations and the UN warn that the number of medical evacuations is dangerously low, with only 260 patients allowed out compared to the 18,500 who urgently need care. Furthermore, Palestinians returning to Gaza through the crossing have reported being subjected to intense interrogations and humiliating searches by Israeli forces, while the World Health Organization emphasizes the dire need to rebuild Gaza's decimated healthcare system to reduce the reliance on these restricted evacuations.
